Flyer Printing Guide: Size, Paper, Sides and Quantity
Flyers are one of the most cost-effective marketing print materials. This guide covers all four decisions you'll make at checkout.
Decision 1: Size
| Format | Size | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| A4 | 210×297mm | Information-dense: product sheets, price lists |
| A5 | 148×210mm | Street distribution: promos, openings |
| DL | 99×210mm | Refined: invitations, rate cards |
Custom sizes print too (quoted as custom), but standard formats are more efficient to impose, so they usually offer better unit pricing.
Decision 2: Paper
- 105g gloss coated: budget runs, mass distribution
- 157g gloss/matte coated: the mainstream pick, crisp in hand
- 250g+: card-grade for rate cards and counter cards
Decision 3: Single or double-sided
The marginal cost of the second side is low — if the content fits, print both sides. Note 105g duplex with dark designs may show through; step up to 128g/157g if that bothers you.
Decision 4: Quantity
Digital printing prices in tiers: the more you print, the lower the unit price. 100/500/1000 are common breakpoints — near a tier boundary, printing more can cost almost the same in total. Check the price table before you commit.
